Subcomittee Scope and Purpose
All activities are in support of, and subject to the review and approval of, the Arboretum Advisory Board. The Development committee will be composed of individuals from across campus. The purpose of the committee is to:
- Recommend policies for form of recognition, solicitation and receipt of gifts;
- Offer advise on development of promotional and informational materials;
- Act as liaisons for the Arboretum with campus administrators and professional and public groups;
- Identify named gifts for the Arboretum Advisory Board, based on the recommendations provided by landscape architects for the Heritage Garden;
- Determine phases and identify ‘starter projects’ in raising funds for the Arboretum;
- Recommend financial, security, and insurance policies consistent with existing University of Illinois regulations, and;
- Work within their individual campus and external contacts.
