The Arboretum is a popular venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions, providing a modest source of income with a facility usage fee of $500 per event. The lawns inspire the formal elegance of weddings throughout the Arboretum during the months of May to September.
If you are interested in reserving space at the Arboretum for your special event, please look through our wedding brochure, which features some commonly asked questions, and a map of our event areas. A schedule of booked events for 2011-2012 is listed below. Please note that the Arboretum is able to accommodate two weddings per day if the events are held in differing locations, however, please avoid dates currently reserved for athletic activities. Small group tours of all gardens are conducted by Diane Anderson, Arboretum horticulturist. Student organizations host back-to-campus receptions in the fall and picnics in the spring.Formal and informal athletic activities such as UIUC-sponsored cross country meets, student organizational races, frisbie, soccer, and football tournaments commonly occur on the grounds of the Arboretum.
No fees are requested for use of the grounds after hours for student activities. However, to book an athletic event during the day (such as 5K and 10K fundraising events, cross country track meets, departmental picnics) you must reserve space by submitting the Facility Use Form (please download the form to complete it).
