In 2017, a perennial garden located just south of the President’s House was donated by Jo Downey, in honor of the University of Illinois’ 150th anniversary. This elliptical garden, designed by Kettelkamp & Kettelkamp, is planted with over 60 species of perennial plants. At the north and south ends of the garden, monuments with interior lighting show off carvings of dogwood blooms.
